2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 26: Shooting Stars' league pursuit comes to test in Aba against Enyimba FC

It will be a heated duel at Enyimba International FC Stadium in Aba as title-chasing Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan travel to face nine-time league winners, Enyimba International FC, in the 2024/2025 season.


For the 2022/2023 league champions, Enyimba International FC, the season has been marked by underwhelming performances, from their exit from continental football to an inconsistent league campaign, which also led to the dismissal of former coach Yemi Olanrewaju.


The People's Elephant currently sit in 11th place, a significant seven points behind their visitors, second-placed Shooting Stars.


Additionally, the changes in the technical crew and management, with Stanley Eguma replacing Olanrewaju, have yet to yield the desired results.


Enyimba find themselves five places outside the continental qualification spots, an unusual position for a club of their stature.


Conversely, Shooting Stars have enjoyed a remarkable season under the guidance of Gbenga Ogunbote.


The clash between these two experienced coaches promises to be an exciting encounter, with goals almost guaranteed.


Speaking ahead of the match, Ogunbote stated unequivocally that Shooting Stars SC’s aspirations remain intact, regardless of the opposition.
