Top-of-the-table side Remo Stars FC made light work of their 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 26 fixture with a comfortable 2-0 win over visiting Kwara United FC.
The victory was propelled by Remo Stars’ exciting young midfielder, Tochukwu Michael, who delivered yet another impressive performance in midfield as the Sky Blue Stars extended their lead at the top of the table to 10 points at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
Midfielder Michael came close to opening the scoring for the hosts in the 12th minute, but his strike hit the woodwork and went out for a goal kick.
He nearly scored again from a free kick, but the Kwara United goalkeeper made a last-minute effort to tip the ball over the bar in the 20th minute.
It was an all-around team performance, but the former Nasarawa United, Plateau United, and Sporting Lagos midfielder stood out as one of the game’s best performers for Daniel Ogunmodede’s side, who now hold a 10-point lead over second-placed Shooting Stars.
