2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 24: Ikorodu travels to Lafia with confidence against Nasarawa United FC

As the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 24 is set to take place between Nasarawa United FC and Ikorodu City FC, it promises to be a football spectacle as both sides test the waters.  


For Ikorodu City FC, the team can’t afford to slow down. The hard work and resilience that have brought them this far need to be doubled, so they must keep pushing.  


The Match Day 24 battle in Lafia against 17th-placed Nasarawa United will be an opportunity for revenge and a chance to climb further up the NPFL table.  


Ikorodu City FC needs to set things right after their 2-1 home defeat back in September on Match Day 4.  


Those were tough times for the Oga Boys, but the team has come a long way since then and is doing well in the league.  


The first experience for the Oga Boys against the Solid Miners came at a really tough time for the team. Chilaka Thankgod’s goal, which was the team's first goal in the top flight, wasn’t enough, as Anas Yusuf and Kabiru Balogun’s goals secured all three points for the Lafia side.  


It was a setback, especially coming just three days after losing at home to the champions, Rangers.  


Now, for Ikorodu City FC, the past doesn’t matter—it’s all about what they can do now and in the games ahead. With that in mind, the Oga Boys must be ready to give their all.  


For team news, Emmanuel Solomon, Rivio Ayemwenre, and Salau Yusuf won’t be available due to personal reasons, while Shola Adelani is also a doubt as he is currently in camp with the Flying Eagles U-20 team.  


Nasarawa United may be struggling in the relegation zone, but they’re still a threat, especially at home.  


Their last seven games have produced only two wins, both coming on their home turf.  


However, for Ikorodu City FC, with four straight away losses, the team knows that they need to step up and secure the important point(s).
