2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 24: Boboye in eye of the storm as Sunshine Stars welcome Akwa United

It will be another emotional return in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 24 as Kennedy Boboye travels back to Remo Stars Stadium to face his former club.  


For Sunshine Stars FC, it will be another battle for survival against a coach who knows the team all too well.  


Although things have not been smooth for Boboye, who returned to the team he once led to Premier League glory, this match presents an opportunity for him to prove his credentials.  


Former NPFL champions Akwa United, coached by Boboye, recently secured their first win under his leadership, defeating Enyimba 2-1 at home.  


Boboye, who took over before the start of the second half of the season, had overseen three winless games before finally securing maximum points at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.  


However, Sunshine Stars will host Akwa United in a game that could shape the course of both teams' seasons. Both sides are fighting to pull away from the relegation battle.  


Neither team has been consistent this season, but a victory here could provide the momentum needed for a strong finish.
