Posted : 27 January 2025

The Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, popularly known as Ali Na Yara Mai Samba, has confirmed that all arrangements have been concluded for the Sai Masu Gida to travel by air for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 21 fixture against Ikorodu City of Lagos.

Ali Na Yara emphasized that the decision to prioritize air travel aligns with the vision of Kano State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has continued to extend unwavering support to the team.

The chairman noted that this marks a significant step toward improving the welfare and morale of the players and officials, ensuring they are in optimal condition for away games.

“We are taking this step because it aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has been a strong pillar of support for Kano Pillars FC. Flying to distant away games will enhance the comfort and readiness of our team, and we are immensely grateful for the governor’s dedication to sports development,” Ali Na Yara stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, for his tireless efforts in facilitating the club’s requirements and ensuring the team’s safety and preparedness.

“We appreciate the Commissioner’s commitment and constant support. His contributions have been instrumental in keeping the team in a strong position,” the chairman added.

Kano Pillars has been one of the standout teams in the NPFL this season, delivering impressive performances both at home and on the road.

The Sai Masu Gida have secured vital away victories against Rangers and Bendel Insurance, along with crucial draws against Bayelsa United and Lobi Stars. These results underline the team’s resilience and competitiveness.

Currently sitting 8th on the NPFL table with 28 points from 19 matches and a game in hand, the Pyramid City side is keen to continue their momentum.

The upcoming Matchday 21 fixture against Ikorodu City, scheduled for Wed. 29, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, offers an opportunity to build on their earlier 4-0 triumph over the newly promoted side in the season opener.

Fans and stakeholders alike are optimistic that the Sai Masu Gida will secure a positive result, further boosting their campaign and demonstrating the governor’s investment in the club's success.

Kano Pillars FC remains committed to keeping fans updated as the team continues its journey in the NPFL 2024/2025 season.
