2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 20: Kwara United FC player, Ovoke, plots Enyimba International FC's fall

Former Kwara United winger, Bernard Ovoke, has vowed to inspire his current team, Enyimba, to victory against his former side in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 encounter in Ilorin.


Ovoke, now with the People’s Elephant, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure all three points against Kwara United, despite their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars in Kano on Thursday.


“We didn’t get the result we wanted in Kano, but we won’t let that define us. We will stay strong and get ready to roar again in Ilorin,” Ovoke said.


“We have the squad, the team, and the motivation to beat Kwara United. As a familiar face in Ilorin, I’m positive we’ll secure a win on Monday,” he added.


Ovoke had a brief stint with Kwara United before joining Enyimba at the start of the second half of the 2023/2024 season. He has since played an integral role in Enyimba’s campaign.


The two sides have met 12 times, with Enyimba holding the upper hand (eight wins, one draw, and three losses). However, Kwara United won their last encounter in Ilorin 2-1 on March 24, 2024.


The match kicks off at 4 pm in Ilorin.
