2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 2: Remo Stars claim first bragging rights in Ikenne with 1-0 win

After back-to-back victories in the opening fixtures, including a 2-0 win over Abia Warriors in Aba and a 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars United FC at home in Match Day 2, Remo Stars have become the first club to occupy the top position on the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.


Remo Stars have now secured two straight wins, following a 1-0 victory over Sunshine Stars of Akure, building on their 2-0 away win over Abia Warriors from the previous weekend.

 


Shuaibu Ibrahim was instrumental in the victory, as the match saw Sunshine Stars make a strong comeback and almost equalize the score.


Although narrow, the win is enough to temporarily place Remo Stars at the top of the table after two games.


They are followed by Rivers United, who defeated Heartland 3-1. This is the second consecutive 3-1 loss that Heartland has suffered in the two-week-old season.
