The Solid Miners endured a slim 1-0 defeat at the hands of their hosts, Katsina United, in the Nigeria Premier Football League match-day 19 clash at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina, on Sunday evening.
Both sides created an avalanche of goal-scoring opportunities, but it was the hosts who ultimately emerged victorious.
The visitors dominated possession for large periods of the game, with striker Qamar Adegoke, winger Abubakar Garba, and center-back Manga Mohammed all missing close chances. However, despite their best efforts, Nasarawa United were unable to find the back of the net.
In a cruel twist of fate, Katsina United's danger man, Azeez Falolu, tapped in a rebound from a free kick in the 73rd minute to give the home side a late lead. Katsina United jealously guarded the narrow scoreline until the final whistle.
The defeat sees the Solid Miners drop to the bottom of the league table, even with a game in hand, while Katsina United move up to 13th position with a game more. Despite the setback, Technical Director Kabir Dogo remained optimistic, praising his team's performance and vowing to bounce back in the next game.
