2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 19: Bayelsa United FC to Test Strength Against Abia Warriors

For the final match of the first stanza of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, in-form Bayelsa United FC is set to host Abia Warriors in a test of strength at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

 

Bayelsa United has been impressive in their last five outings, scoring seven goals and conceding only twice. They maintain a perfect home record with victories over Niger Tornadoes, Ikorodu City, and Akwa United. However, their away form includes a goalless draw against Elkanemi Warriors and a 2-0 defeat to Remo Stars.

 

Abia Warriors, meanwhile, have experienced mixed results in their last five games, scoring six goals while conceding the same number. They secured wins over Katsina United, Niger Tornadoes, and Ikorodu City but faltered away from home, losing to Elkanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars.

 

Bayelsa United’s formidable home form could give them the upper hand, though Abia Warriors will look to capitalize on their early-season promise. Historically, since 2015, the two teams have faced off five times, with Abia Warriors winning twice, Bayelsa United once, and one match ending in a draw.
