Posted : 22 December 2024

Having missed the last two games due to illness, Musa’s presence was a much-needed boost for Sai Masu Gida, who were desperate to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Shooting Stars.

The match began with high intensity as Kano Pillars sought redemption in front of their home fans.

Rashid Alhassan gave the hosts an early lead in the 30th minute, converting Naziru Salisu’s expertly delivered free kick.

However, the Ikon Allah Boys, who came into the game on the back of a commanding 4-1 victory over Sunshine Stars, responded strongly.

Mohammed Aliyu equalized just after the hour mark, setting the stage for a nail-biting finish.

With the match heading toward a stalemate, Musa stepped up to prove why he remains a key player for Kano Pillars.

The veteran forward, who has now contributed eight goals this season (six goals and two assists), struck a decisive blow in the dying moments of the game, sealing all three points for the hosts and reigniting their push up the NPFL table.

The victory moves Kano Pillars to seventh place with 25 points from 17 games, level with Ikorodu City.

Niger Tornadoes, despite their spirited performance, remain just below in eighth with 24 points from 18 matches.

Kano Pillars will travel to face El-Kanemi Warriors in their next fixture, aiming to build on this momentum.

Meanwhile, the Minna Boys will look to regroup as they host defending champions Enugu Rangers at the Bako Kontagora Stadium.

With his last-minute stunner, Ahmed Musa has once again displayed his importance to Kano Pillars and the NPFL at large.
