As November unfolded, Ikorodu City FC firmly made its mark, picking up wins that highlighted not just the depth of talent on the field but also the team’s determination.

Following the highs of October, the spirit within the camp stayed strong, proving to the doubters that the Oga Boys are now a force to be reckoned with.

November tells a story of resilience, built on hard work, passion, and a clear focus on goals.

As a month to remember, Ikorodu City FC secured four (4) wins and one draw in the league.

The month started with a commanding 2-0 victory over Rivers United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. This result was about more than just the three points—it underscored the growing confidence within the team. The Oga Boys ended Rivers United’s nine-match unbeaten run in impressive fashion.

Ayomide Cole broke the deadlock early in the second half, with Waliu Ojetoye providing the assist. Just seven minutes later, Rivio Ayemwenre doubled the lead, finishing coolly off a perfectly weighted pass from Toyeeb Ajeyigbe.

The message was clear: the Oga Boys were making a statement.

The next trip to Katsina United on November 10th proved a true test of character for the team. After conceding an early goal, Solomon Alade leveled the score in the 43rd minute, thanks to an assist from Emmanuel Solomon.

As the game neared its conclusion, Ikorodu City FC showed their fighting spirit. In the 89th minute, Emmanuel Solomon scored the winner after connecting with Rivio Ayemwenre’s pass. It was a dramatic finish—a clear reflection of the club’s never-say-die mentality.

If there were any lingering doubts about the City Boys' resolve, this game put them to rest. It marked the start of a new rivalry with Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the first South West Derby.

November 17th delivered one of the month’s most exciting games. After a tight first half, Ikorodu City fell behind but came into the second half with renewed energy. Shola Adelani’s 58th-minute goal brought the score level, and with just two minutes left, Rivio Ayemwenre rose to meet a brilliant Harrison Austin cross, heading home the winner in the 88th minute. It was a crucial and dramatic finish that sealed the points and gave Nuruden Aweroro bragging rights in the derby, showcasing both attacking threat and the ability to hold their nerves when it mattered most.

On November 23rd, Ikorodu City FC was put to the test in Minna. A 0-0 draw with Niger Tornadoes was far from the drama of previous weeks, but it proved to be a crucial point. Without the heroics of goalkeeper James Faith, the team might have left empty-handed.

The Oga Boys defended resolutely, absorbing pressure from a determined opposition while looking to exploit counter-attacking opportunities. It wasn’t a game for the purists, but in the context of the season, it highlighted the team’s ability to adapt—solid, disciplined, and tough when it mattered most.

Ikorodu City FC rounded off November with a commanding 2-0 win over El Kanemi Warriors on November 27th. It was the perfect way to close a month defined by steady growth and clinical execution.

Shola Adelani broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, finishing off an Ayomide Cole assist. Cole then put the result beyond doubt with a powerful strike in the 77th minute, set up by Tosin Oyedokun. It was a performance that left no doubt.

Throughout November, Ikorodu City FC showed that success wasn’t just about flashes of brilliance, but about the consistency and hard work that define top teams. With key players like Ayomide Cole, Shola Adelani, Rivio Ayemwenre, and James Faith stepping up when it mattered most, the team’s collective resilience has been the foundation of its rise.

Ending the month with 13 points from 15, scoring 8 goals, and conceding 2, Ikorodu City FC is in a strong position moving forward.

Looking ahead and building on solid performances and key victories, the Oga Boys will next face Akwa United FC of Uyo on Sunday.

Head-to-head:
It will be the first meeting between the two teams in top-flight football.
