2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 14: We could have won Sunshine Stars' match, Finidi laments

The coach of Rivers United, Finidi George, has attributed their inability to secure the maximum points against Sunshine Stars to missed chances.


The Pride of Rivers scored the opening goal but allowed Sunshine Stars to equalize just before the end of the game.


The former Super Eagles boss said they deserved all the points in the match.

"It was a good game, we played to win.


"In the first half, we missed a couple of chances. We would have won the game if we had scored; the game would have been different."


"We later got a goal and tried to hold on, but with the free kick, we should have done better. They got a free header, which shouldn’t have happened."


"A draw is not bad, but looking at the game, I think we should have won 2-1," he said.
