Effiong’s goal at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium helped Rivers United move to 25 points from 13 matches, with seven wins, four draws, and two losses.

Plateau United of Jos secured a 2-0 victory over visiting Nasarawa United of Lafia, strengthening their position in the standings.
Shooting Stars Sports Club edged out Bayelsa United of Yenagoa 1-0, thanks to a 15th-minute goal by Anthony Okachi at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri had earlier defeated Akwa United of Uyo 1-0 on Saturday, moving into third place on the table with 22 points from 13 games.
Enyimba International of Aba remained in fourth place with 20 points from 12 matches, as their Match Day 13 game against Sunshine Stars of Akure was postponed.
Rangers International of Enugu stayed in fifth place with 20 points after a goalless draw against hosts Heartland FC in Owerri on Saturday.
Bendel Insurance of Benin defeated Kwara United of Ilorin 3-1, while Lobi Stars of Makurdi played to a 2-2 draw with visiting Kano Pillars in Lafia.
