2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 12: We are courageous enough to beat Plateau United, says Kwara United coach

The Head Coach of Kwara United, Ashifat Suleiman, has praised his team's courage and determination in beating Plateau United FC in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 12 fixtures.


Suleiman stated that his side showed great courage and determination to win the match.

Kwara United secured a thrilling 2-0 victory over Plateau United in their 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 12 encounter, thanks to a stunning brace from substitute Emmanuel Ogbole.


The match was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin on Sunday.


Both teams were evenly matched in a lackluster first half, with Nurudeen Sanni squandering several scoring opportunities for Kwara United.


Sanni should have put the hosts ahead within the first three minutes of the match after a beautiful team play.


He rounded Plateau United's goalkeeper, Emeka Nwabulu, but missed the chance to score when one of the defending players intercepted his attempt.


However, the introduction of Ogbole in the second half completely transformed the game’s dynamics.


His pace, skill, and clinical finishing proved too much for the Plateau United defense, as he scored in the 67th minute with a powerful header to give the hosts the lead.


Eleven minutes later, Ogbole rose to the occasion again to double the lead in the 78th minute with a spot kick.


The victory marks a significant boost for Kwara United, who are currently ranked 7th in the league, while Plateau United occupies the 17th spot.


Suleiman added, "We carried the same spirit we took to Nasarawa on Match Day 11. Everyone can see that it was a massive game. We took the ball to the opponents, and the boys followed instructions."


"We will continue to work hard. We have a target, and we will continue working toward it," Suleiman said.
