2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 12: Lobi Stars mentally ready for Sunshine Stars, says club

As Sunshine Stars host Lobi Stars in Ijebu Ode for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 12, Lobi Stars' Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi, aims to further extend his winning record.


To strengthen the Alia Boys, the club's management appointed Finnish tactician Mika Lönnström to support the backroom staff. Lönnström has already demonstrated his capabilities, securing his first victory since taking charge.

Ahead of the game, Lobi Stars conducted their final training session at McCarthy Stadium, focusing heavily on tactical drills to prepare for their visit to Sunshine Stars of Akure in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.


During the session, under the supervision of Mika Lönnström, the players were put through tactical drills with the ball to ensure precision and readiness for the crucial NPFL encounter on Sunday.


Following the training, Lobi Stars chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, on behalf of the board, congratulated the team for their hard-fought victory against Abia Warriors on Match Day 11 at Lafia City Stadium.


Nongu encouraged the team to maintain their momentum as they face Sunshine Stars on Sunday in Ogun State. He also reaffirmed Governor Alia's support for the team and conveyed the governor’s pride in their recent performances.


Responding on behalf of the team, Technical Adviser Daniel Amokachi thanked the chairman for his unwavering support toward the club's success. 


The former Nasarawa United coach reiterated his commitment to working tirelessly with the players to ensure they climb out of the relegation zone, emphasizing that the club's current position is only temporary.


According to Amokachi, the result in Lafia will serve as a morale booster for the team moving forward.
