2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 11: Struggling Bayelsa United FC stuns Rivers United FC in Port Harcourt

Rivers United continued their downward spiral on Sunday as under-pressure Bayelsa United FC secured a vital three points at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.


The Pride of Rivers had previously lost their 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) unbeaten streak to the resurgent Ikorodu City FC on Match Day 10.

Following the 0-3 defeat, the George Finidi-led team went on to lose the 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 11 clash to the visiting Bayelsa United FC.


The Prosperity Boys, facing pressure themselves, had been given a three-match ultimatum by the Bayelsa state government after a poor start to the season.


Against the title-chasing Rivers United, Bayelsa United FC took matters into their own hands with a strong display, securing the winning goal early in the 7th minute.
