Bendel Insurance have been charged with breaching the NPFL Frameworks and Rules during their Matchday 11 game against Kano Pillars on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Bendel Insurance failed to provide adequate and effective security, allowing unauthorized persons to access restricted areas and attack the match officials.

The club also failed to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters, which led to the attack and intimidation of the match officials.
Three points and three goals have now been deducted from Bendel Insurance’s points and goal tally for the assault on the match officials.
The club has also been fined N1 million for failing to provide adequate and effective security, as well as for failing to ensure proper conduct of their supporters, totaling N2 million.
The club will pay an additional N1 million fine for misconduct capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
Bendel Insurance will also pay N250,000 each to the assaulted match officials—Adeniyi Adewale, Anuoluwapo Balogun, and Sodiq Sonibare.
Furthermore, Bendel Insurance will play their next three home matches behind closed doors at their Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, without supporters.
Bendel Insurance has 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal these sanctions.
