2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 10: Abia Warriors target victory over Heartland Int'l FC in Oriental derby

Ahead of their 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 10 Oriental Derby against neighbors Heartland FC, Abia Warriors captain Augustine Njoku is optimistic that his team will secure maximum points against their arch-rivals.


The former Nigeria U-20 right-back admitted that it would be a challenging match but remained hopeful for a victory for the Pride of Abia.

"It's another game; no two games are alike. The last game is behind us, and I urge the fans to expect a victory from Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, as usual, come Sunday.


"Yes, it's an Oriental Derby—a strong match to talk about. Regarding Heartland, many of their players know us well, and we know them equally.


"So, I believe it's going to be a tough game, but I'm confident that Abia Warriors Football Club will emerge victorious to make it three wins out of three."


Abia Warriors will host Heartland FC at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
