Following Dakkada's enthralling 2-2 draw at Abia Comets, Head Coach Emmanuel Ntuk has said that the best of his youthful side is yet to come.
Bassey Bassey, who was making his first start of the season, scored twice from direct free-kicks in the first half before Comets' Doukumo Wadulu capitalized on a goal-mouth melee to restore parity five minutes from time.
Speaking shortly after the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Match Day 8 fixture in Umuahia, the Uyo-born coach noted that his players are gradually finding their rhythm as games progress and expressed confidence that they will peak soon.
"My boys are very young, and they are beginning to come to terms with the physical and mental energy levels that the NNL requires," Mr. Ntuk said.
"There is a lot of telepathy in the team, good understanding, high pressing, and quick transition, and the fact that we have scored five goals in the last two games tells you that the boys are now peaking and becoming very difficult to beat," he added.
As a result of the draw, Coach Emmanuel Ntuk has now gone unbeaten in four matches during his visits to Umuahia Township Stadium, dating back to his time as Head Coach of Ibom Youth.
Dakkada will play host to Smart City, while Abia Comets will be guests at Igbajo United's Lanreleke Academy Stadium in Ile-Ogbo, Osun, when Match Day 9 gets underway.
