Diminutive 1472 FC player, Metti Yusuf, stole the show as his team defeated Igbajo United of Osun State 1-0 in their Nigeria National League (NNL) match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Yusuf was in blistering form, and his lone strike made the difference, securing 1472 FC their first maximum points of the season.

The Lagos-based side began their 2024/2025 NNL campaign on a bright note by collecting all three points, making a bold statement about their intentions and readiness for the season.
The President of 1472 FC, Dozy Mmobuosi, expressed his excitement after the match while acknowledging the effort of the opponents.
“I’m excited about this win. The boys did a good job, but I must also commend our opponents for giving them a good fight.
“It was a good match, and I enjoyed every minute of the game while it lasted.”
The CEO of 1472 FC, Seyi Jones, also praised the tenacity and resilience of his players after the hard-fought encounter.
“It was a very tough match, but I must commend my boys for their commitment, resilience, and hard work.
“The win didn’t come easy, but what matters is that we got the three points.
“Remarkably, this is our first win of the season, which makes it very special,” he noted.
The NNL kicked off across various centers in Nigeria, with the curtain-raiser taking place in Abakiliki between newcomers Abakiliki FC and Madiba FC of Lagos, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
