Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has successfully bolstered its squad with 15 new players ahead of the 2024/2025 football season.
The club's management, under the leadership of its Chairman and Benue State Deputy Governor, Sam Ode, and Vice Chairman and CEO, Dominic Iorfa, has continued to unearth and nurture talents from the grassroots to the global stage.
Among the 15 new signings, 5 players were successfully discovered during the tour of local governments in Benue State, in a move by the club’s management to produce stars that will challenge for laurels next season.
The club's VC and CEO, Dominic Iorfa, disclosed that the new players passed their medicals and are certified to play in the colors of the 'Yes Father Boys' next season.
He reiterated the management’s commitment to bringing smiles to the faces of fans, supporters, and the entire people of Benue State.
While commending the total support of the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, Iorfa said that the acquisition of the new signings would help the club compete for honors in the forthcoming season.
Highly-rated forward, Ossy Martins, who joined from Remo Stars, is among the top stars that will represent the 'Alia Boys' in the upcoming season.
Additionally, experienced goalkeeper Akor Itodo joins from Gombe United, while defensive strongman Mathew Arinze teams up with the squad from Abia Warriors.
The five grassroots stars include Aondoyavenga Japheth from Makurdi LGA, Terna Peter Yoonen from Gboko LGA, Komgbenda Joseph from Vandeikya LGA, Hilega Bemshima from Makurdi LGA, and Torkuma Gyenkwe from Gboko LGA.
Other top stars include Baba Tunde from Akwa United, Jide Williams from Bendel Insurance, and Valentine Igiga from Gombe United.
Ifeanyi Assurance joined the Pride of Benue from Bayelsa United, Segun Oluwatoba was signed from Ijebu United, Jimmy Iteji from Plateau United, and Samuel Aniefok from Doma United.
