The Third-placed 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Rivers United FC are once again in the market in search of a forward to beef up the department.
Right now, the attention of the Pride of Rivers who will be playing in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup, is now shifted to Bayelsa United's star striker, Robert Mizo.
According to a source from the player’s camp, the Restoration Boys’ top scorer is being offered double his salary by Rivers United.
Mizo helped Bayelsa United win the 2021 Federation Cup and scored nine times in the 2022–23 Nigeria Premier League season.
His goals, however, failed to prevent the team from getting relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the just-concluded 2022/2023 NPFL Abridged league.
Rivers United are also said to be interested in Shooting Stars forward Sikiru Alimi.
Sikiru has yet to sign the one-year contract offered to him by the Ibadan-based soccer warlords.
