The Super Falcons of Nigeria currently preparing ahead of the 2023 World Cup in Australia/New Zealand are now ready to test their strenght against Australia female club, Lions FC.
The Super Falcons have been criticised for having poor preparations towards the mundial.
According to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the 11-time African Champions (1991, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018) will now have a date with Lions FC, a local women’s football club in a friendly match slated for Brisbane, Australia on Saturday.
It is not yet clear if the match will be open to the public considering whether the 2023 World Cup will commence on Thursday next week or not.
It is the first warm-up match the Coach Randy Waldrum-led ladies will be playing since they started camping for the global football fiesta last week.
Super Falcons have been in camp at the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Australia since last week.
Following disagreement between the coach and the federation, the team has attracted more negative reports including the players decision to boycott their opening match against Canada on Friday next week.
In a report, the captain of the side, Onome Ebi, however, denied the planned boycott.
Lions FC, full name as Queensland Lions FC, are currently 4th in the 16-team women Australia National Premier League with 27 points from 16 matches.
They played 2-2 away against Peninsula Power on Friday.
