The Solid Miners remain on top of the Group C standings despite going down 2-1 against Wikki Tourists FC at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi during Match Day 6 of the Nigeria National League encounter.
The hosts took the lead from the spot in the 10th minute after a foul on Sam Aremu Owolabi inside the box.
The Big Elephants doubled the lead at the brink of the first half through the same penalty converter, Sam Aremu Owolabi.
Nasarawa United found their footing and reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute after a well-tailored free-kick from Moyi Hassan found substitute Anas Yusuf, who delivered a breathtaking cross to Chinedu Ohanachom. His header beat the Wikki goalkeeper, Michael.
Further efforts by both teams to alter the scoreline proved abortive as Nasarawa United succumbed to their second loss of the 2023/24 League campaign.
However, the result did not reflect the standings of the team in Group C, as the Solid Miners remain on top with ten points and a plus-two goal advantage. Wikki moved closer with nine points and a plus-six goal advantage.
The Solid Miners will not be in action in the league until Saturday, January 13, 2024, when they will welcome NAF FC of Abuja.
