Palm Syrup FC has advanced to the final of the NLO Cup, sponsored by telecommunications giant MTN and FirstCentral Credit Bureau, through a penalty shootout.
The captivating 90 minutes of quality football at the Uyo Township Stadium ended goalless, leading to a nail-biting penalty shootout that saw a total of 16 spot kicks, eight each.
Palm Syrup, missing the third and fourth penalties, initially faced a setback, but Kun Khalifa FC's failure to capitalize on the advantage allowed Palm Syrup to win the shootout 6-5.
In Kano, the final group matches at the Sani Abacha Stadium concluded with Tudun Wada and Green Lock FC remaining unbeaten. Tudun Wada FC defeated Zeal Minds FC 4-2, with Rabiu Abdullahi scoring all four goals, while Green Lock FC edged FC Sheika 3-2, setting up an exciting clash between themselves.
Having secured a spot in the final, Palm Syrup FC, awaiting the winner between Green Lock and Tudun Wada, will compete for the championship on Saturday, December 9, at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja.
