As the battle for the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) title intensifies, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin will face Ekiti Queens FC at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
In the first encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin in 2023, Edo Queens humiliated the newcomers to the NWFL elite side by 4-nil.
It's not enough to say that the mid-week clash will be easy, but it looks like it's going to be another tough game for the Ado-Ekiti girls who are currently fighting to get out of the relegation zone.
For Edo Queens, they need to play their hearts out to remain in contention for the Super 6, considering their current standing on the log, because dropping any points this time around will put them in a difficult position as Bayelsa Queens FC and Rivers Angels FC have continuously maintained the 1st and 2nd positions on the log.
Bayelsa Queens have 22 points, Rivers Angels 21, Edo Queens 19, FC Robo 18, Delta Queens 12, Remo Stars Ladies 12, Sunshine Queens 10, and Ekiti Queens 8 points.
The Ekiti Queens camp might want to play the spoiler role, so the Moses Aduku-tutored ladies must come out bold against the host side regardless of their fans' aggressiveness.
Though football pundits have always described NWFL Group B as the group of death because of the five NWFL heavyweights in the group, it is difficult to predict which team will eventually grab the ticket for the prestigious NWFL Super 6, as five out of seven are potential Super 6 hopefuls.
For Edo Queens fans, they believe that their Queens are stronger now, having won two tough home matches in succession.
There is hope for tomorrow's cracker that they have what it takes to send Ekiti Queens back to the championship side where they came from.
The Oluyemi Kayode Stadium fans will be thrilled by beautiful football from the Godwin Obaseki girls from the 'heartbeat' State. While the likes of Suliat Abideen and Goodness Osigwe will do the damage, as the home fans await the celebration of three away points.
