Nasarawa Amazons on Match Day 11 of the Nigeria Women's Premier League 2023/2024 returned to winning ways as they pummeled the visiting Dannaz Ladies of Lagos by 3 goals to 1.
Nasarawa Amazons' highest goal scorer, Ojiyovwi Kesiena, on a good Wednesday evening in Lafia, continued her goal-scoring prowess as she netted in Nasarawa Amazons' 3-1 thrashing of Dannaz Ladies of Lagos.
Ojiyovwi Kesiena put the home team in the lead in the 22nd minute after she dazzled two defenders and took a bullet shot on target that beat the waiting hands of the Dannaz Ladies goalkeeper. The first half of the game ended 1-0.
The prolific striker Odoh missed an incredible penalty but still converted it to a goal in the same 52nd minute, increasing the tally to two goals for Nasarawa Amazons.
The Amazons continued to dazzle in the game as all the fans and supporters were in so much excitement, enjoying the game of female football in Lafia.
In the 85th minute, Ojiyovwi Kesiena got another classic goal to make it 3 goals for the home side.
However, the visitors got a consolidation goal through Delight of Dannaz Ladies, who converted an 89th-minute penalty as the match ended 3-1 in favor of Nasarawa Amazons.
Coach Christopher Danjuma said, "Winning is a mentality. We are rebuilding, and we are getting the right players. See how you get balance to get the best out of your players. When you are putting your heads together to get goals, after our next game, we will be set for the Super Six."
Nasarawa Amazons' victory against Dannaz Ladies has further intensified the Lafia Land ladies' preparation to have the State flag hoisted at the forthcoming NWFL Super 6, coming up later in the year.
With these results, Nasarawa Amazons are sitting second on the log with 20 points from eleven games and will be away to Abia Angels next week Wednesday for match day 12 cracker.
