Winners of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Rangers International FC of Enugu, have been celebrated and duly rewarded with the prestigious prize money of N150 million for their outstanding performance throughout the season. Andrew Ekejiuba, the GTI Head of Media Publicity, announced on Wednesday the distribution of prize money across various categories in Nigerian football. In addition to the NPFL champions, Rangers International FC, other deserving teams and individuals were also recognized for their remarkable contributions to the sport during the 2024 President Federation Cup (PFC).
El-Kanemi Warriors FC, champions of the 2024 PFC for men, received a commendable sum of N50 million for their victory, highlighting their prowess and strategic gameplay throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, Abia Warriors FC, the runners-up in the men's category, were awarded N20 million, underscoring their competitive spirit and skillful performances on the pitch.
Turning to the women’s category of the PFC, Rivers Angels FC emerged victorious and were presented with N25 million in recognition of their exceptional achievement. Their consistent performance and determination throughout the competition earned them the well-deserved title and financial reward. On the other hand, Naija Ratels FC of Abuja, the runners-up, received a commendation of N10 million for their commendable effort and competitive spirit displayed during the tournament.
In addition to team accolades, individual players who excelled in specific categories were also honored with financial rewards. A prize money of N1 million each was allocated to outstanding performers such as the Highest Goal Scorer, Most Valuable Player (MVP), and Best Goalkeeper in both the men's and women’s PFC categories.
