2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 6: Sunshine Stars, Abia Warriors set to clash in search of redemption

With both teams enduring a recent poor run of form, Sunshine Stars are determined to seek redemption after managing just one victory in their last five games. The Akure Gunners secured their only win on Match Day 1 against the new league entrants, Kano Pillars.
 
Since then, they have been on a four-match winless streak, suffering a 2-3 loss to Lobi Stars in Markurdi, followed by an uninspiring 1-1 draw against Heartland FC of Owerri. Their woes continued as they succumbed to a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Plateau United FC.
 
On the other hand, Abia Warriors will look to capitalize on their experience in snatching away points in Akure. Erasmus Onuh's team currently occupies the fifth position on the league table, level on points with the third-placed team, although they have a slightly lower goal difference. They've played five matches, securing three wins and enduring two losses.
 
In head-to-head encounters, Sunshine Stars have the upper hand with three wins over Abia Warriors, while the latter has managed to secure two victories with no draws between them.
 
Prediction:
Given the current form of both teams, it's plausible that Sunshine Stars may play to a draw in this upcoming fixture.
