2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 4: Unbeaten Lobi Stars FC welcomes resilient Abia Warriors to Lafia

Unbeaten Lobi Stars FC of Markurdi will on Saturday, October 21, welcome resilient Abia Warriors FC in what could be a great decider for both teams in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 4 fixtures.

Although the Pride of Benue have remained unbeaten this season, the team still plays their home matches away from their traditional home ground in Aper Aku Stadium, which failed to pass as one of the accredited centers for the 2023/2024 NPFL season.

The Pride of Benue will host Abia Warriors at the neighboring Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa.

In all, Lobi Stars, having started the league with an interim coach, has been able to steady its fold with two draws and one win, having five points to sit in 7th position on the log.

Abia Warriors, on the other hand, are 3rd on the table with 6 points from two wins and a loss. The team's loss came on the heels of a grueling encounter on Match Day 3 when they were involved in a near-fatal accident on their way to honor the match against Kwara United FC in Ilorin, where they were pipped 0-1.

Abia Warriors have a better head-to-head record against Lobi Stars, having secured three wins against their Match Day 4 rival, who have two wins.

Lobi Stars striker Tiza Samuel, in a pre-match interview, expressed his team's readiness for the encounter against Abia Warriors.

Samuel said the players were ready to record their second win of the season against the Ochendo Boys.

"I'm personally ready, and my teammates are good to go to snatch the maximum points against Abia Warriors.

"The camp mood is high, and my teammates are good to go ahead of the encounter.

"We are hoping to win the match by God's grace," he said.
