2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 3: Abia Warriors set for Kano Pillars acid test

After a horrific journey to Ilorin to honour the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 2, Abia Warriors will have a respite of playing in front of their home fans as they welcomed 11th placed and elite league returnee, Kano Pillars to Aba.

Recall that Abia Warriors team were involved in a road crash enroute Ilorin to honour their away Match Day 2 fixtures against Kwara United FC.

The coach of the team, Erasmus Onuh had blamed the loss on the accident which he alleged to have a negative impact on the psychology of his players. 

Onuh said that the players were tired before they got to Ilorin, hence the poor showing.

However, for the Match Day 3 mid week encounter, Abia Warriors welcomes Kano Pillars who just earned a slim 1-0 win over sister club, Katsina United FC.

With everything out on stake, Abia Warriors will fancy a decent win over Kano Pillars who might still be fighting to find footing in the elite league division.

Head to Head:

In the last 15 match encounters between both teams, Kano Pillars have eight wins against Abia Warriors with four wins, while other remaining three matches ended in draws.

Prediction: Abia Warriors to win.
