Coach Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars has described the goalless draw his side played with relegation-bound Gombe United in a Match Day 28 NPFL game at the Pantami Stadium as a woeful result.
A disappointed Ogunmodede said the points dropped against the bottom-placed team in the NPFL was a major blow to their title aspirations.
According to him, every point matters at the business end of the league, saying that his players will strive to fight like wounded lions in subsequent games.
"It was a woeful result for us. We came here for the maximum points. We knew what it means to get the maximum 3 points, but unfortunately, we couldn't get it.
"It's a mess on our part. I am not happy with the result. Coming here to get a draw is like nothing because the team had nothing to play for again. It's not a good result for us.
"Our approach is always to win every game. We know what to do to get the maximum three points at this stage of the league.
"Every match we play, we aim to get maximum points.
"We will approach the games positively, knowing that the league is at a crucial time.
"We need to get every maximum point. This is not the time to play around. This is football, and anything can happen.
"You need to fight like a warrior, and what a warrior does is that there is no home or away ground."
