Rangers International FC of Enugu powered into the top three of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on a midweek fixture day characterized by losses for the top two sides, Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Remo Stars of Ikenne on the road.
Remo Stars lost 0-1 to Enugu Rangers, with Augustine Agu Kenechukwu scoring the solitary goal in the 56th minute at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, also known as the Cathedral.
The win marks the third consecutive victory for the Flying Antelopes in the second round of the league, and the Coal City side is now in 3rd place in the table with 37 points, just 2 points adrift of Lobi Stars, who held onto the top spot despite losing the "battle of stars" 0-2 to Sunshine Stars in Akure.
Rangers International FC Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu was full of praise for his boys' show of character and strength.
