Two-time league champions Kano Pillars FC will hope to continue their winning streak when they welcome Kennedy Boboye-powered Sunshine Stars FC to their den at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The Sai Masu Gida, despite being one man down, earned a deserving 1-1 away draw against the league strugglers, Heartland International FC in Awka after the latter was banned from using their traditional home ground, Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri, due to unplayable turf.
For the newly appointed Sunshine Stars FC Coach Kennedy Boboye, there is high hope that he will have the full complement of his team, including Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona, for the game.
So, it's time for him to wave his magic wand and reaffirm his ingenuity in the league, which he has won twice so far, and also his brief stint at Heartland International FC, where he performed well before the Imo State government asked him to leave.
As for the Akure Gunners, they failed to acquire the maximum points against Kwara United in matchday 21. But now they will travel to a tough ground where they may not earn any points.
Head to head:
