Under fire Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna Coach, Majin Mohammed, has hailed his team's resilience to record a vital win over hard-fighting Abia Warriors FC of Aba in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 21. Recall that the Ikon Allah Boys secured a slim 1-0 win over the visiting Abia Warriors in Kaduna.
Coach Mohammed, however, hailed the fighting spirit of his players in the narrow 1-0 victory over the Abia Warlords. The Ikon Allah Boys were made to sweat before grabbing a hard-earned win against the Abia Warriors as new recruit Ikenna Offor grabbed a 76th-minute goal to secure the win at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Mohammed, who noted that teams in the league were putting up a good fight, equally commended his new additions for proving their mettle as a team. The entire team is putting up a very good fight now. We went to Katsina and lost narrowly.
''We had to do everything to get the three points. The Abia Warriors are not pushovers. They came up with a game plan after drawing in their home. Our boys lived up to expectations.
"Most of them are coming from the NPFL, like the goalscorer, who is already established because he came from Kwara United. "It's all about knowing what to do and positioning yourselves."
The result moves Tornadoes out of the red zone and occupies the 15th place on the log.
