In pursuit of realizing the aspirations of the reigning NPFL 2023/2024 champions and Nigeria’s CAF Champions League representatives, Rangers International F.C. has concluded negotiations and signed Garando Tekena and Anayor Ogbonna to enhance the team’s already strong squad for the upcoming season.
Tekena, a midfield maestro, joins from Bayelsa United, while attacking sensation Anayor Ogbonna comes from relegated Gombe United. Both players have signed contracts to proudly represent the badge of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ in the coming season.
Both players were selected by the scouting team and coaching staff for potential addition to the squad assembled by coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, aiming to make a positive impact in the upcoming season.
Earlier, Rangers International FC announced the signing of Nwobodo Somtochukwu.
Somtochukwu completed his move to the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champions from non-league side FC Inter of Enugu.
Nwobodo was unveiled at the Rangers' headquarters.
He was discovered by the eight-time NPFL champions during the 2024 Enugu State FA Cup.
Nwobodo expressed his happiness with the progress in his career.
“This is a big opportunity that I have been waiting for,” he said during his unveiling.
“I will do my best to convince the coaches to give me playing time in this star-studded team that is being assembled to defend the domestic league title and excel on the continent.
“I thank my coaches and teammates at FC Inter for helping me become a better player and for being noticed by a big club like Rangers.”
