2023/2024 NPFL: Bendel Insurance FC's shot stopper, Amos Obasogie wins NPFL Golden Glove Award

Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amos Obasogie has won the Golden Glove Award in the recently concluded 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League season.


Obasogie, who recorded 18 clean sheets, surpassed Remo Stars’ Kayode Bankole and Doma United’s Kingdom Osayi, who both ended the season with 15 clean sheets.


Meanwhile, former Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has gifted Amos Obasogie with the sum of N100,000 for emerging as the best goalkeeper, while Bendel Insurance goalkeeper trainer Afesoh Atttah was also rewarded with N50,000.


Ezenwa, currently based in the United States of America, introduced an innovative incentive program at the start of the season aimed at motivating goalkeepers across the league and acknowledging their outstanding performances.


Under this new initiative, aptly named "Goalkeeper of the Week," NPFL goalkeepers received a morale-boosting 5,000 Naira recharge card.


This initiative was expected not only to recognize their exceptional efforts but also to serve as a small token of appreciation for their dedication between the posts.
