Abia Comets utility player, Oscar Nwimo, is optimistic the club will extend its eight-match unbeaten run in the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League (NNL) against Dakkada FC.
Abia Comets face Dakkada FC at the Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday for a Match Day 14 NNL encounter.
Nwimo, who has had a blistering start to his stint with the Umuahia-based side, was a standout performer in Comets' last away victory against Vandrezzer FC in Uyo.
The former left-back and center-back for SKE FC of Port Harcourt expects a tough game but remains hopeful of a positive result.
"The team has been preparing well and training hard ahead of the important encounter against Dakkada FC on Saturday," Nwimo said.
"Of course, Dakkada is a good side, and most importantly, we must respect our opponents. We will still show our qualities even though we are playing away from home," he added.
"I'm confident because we secured a vital victory the last time we came to Uyo. So, I believe we will show the same character and attitude against Dakkada FC," Nwimo continued.
"We are hopeful for a positive result because we know what's at stake and the quality of the team we're facing," he said.
"I believe in what we can achieve and the trust we have in the team. We're on an eight-game unbeaten run, and we'll give our all to make sure that streak continues by securing a positive result against Dakkada FC in Uyo," Nwimo concluded.
