2022/2023 NPFL Super 6: Remo Stars FC's Coach, Ogunmodede reserves praise for striker

As Remo Stars rallied twice to draw level against Enyimba FC of Aba in the opening match of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6, the coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has some words of praise for the team for the bravery.
 
Coach Ogunmodede noted that Remo Stars deserved all the credit after they twice came from behind to draw Enyimba 2-2 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium).
 
The first match of the day in the 2022/2023 NPFL Super 6 ended with four goals scored all in the second-half of the testy game.
 
The first goal of the game came from the boot of Adiele Erugo to gift the Finidi George-led team the lead in the 60th minute.
 
Junior Lokosa then balanced the game with a deft strike almost immediately.
 
The Peoples Elephant second goal came from the NPFL top scorer Emeka Obioma, who made no mistake scoring the penalty spot.
 
Junior Nduka then produced a beauty, scoring a sublime goal from a set piece at the edge of Enyimba's box.
 
“We took the game to Enyimba, even though we played them with respect,” says Ogunmodede.
 
“My players were disciplined during the game but hard done with the draw as it wasn't the result we wanted. By and large, it's a fair one for the team.”
 
Junior Lokosa, a former top scorer in the domestic football league earned praise from his coach as he scored the Sky Blues Stars’ equalizing goal.
 
“Lokosa had a good game, as he brought the change we needed up front, as he kept hold of the ball. He was fearless and got bruised by the Enyimba defenders.”
 
Speaking on the mild drama with the match officials, he said:
 
“Such a big game like this can't do without arguments, football is emotional but the most important thing is showing respect to the officials which we did.
 
“They are humans and can make mistakes, even I as a coach do make mistakes. The good thing is we were able to contain our emotions and did not use foul language on them but asked questions when necessary.”
