2022/2023 NPFL Super 6 playoffs: Last day drama as Remo Stars FC qualifies for Champions League Ticket

As the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League Super 6 came to close on Sunday, Remo Stars surprisingly emerged second ahead of the defending champions Rivers United FC., aftermath of a slim 1-0 win over Bendel Insurance.

Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that Daniel Ogunmodede-coached team will now play in the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League.

The Sky Blues' Qudus Akanni scored the only goal of the game in the 36th minute of the tightly contested match.

Bendel Insurance on 21 league games first tasted defeat in a 2-1 loss to Rivers United FC and thereafter, succumbed to 0-1 to Remo Stars FC in the last fixtures of Match Day 5.

The Bendel Insurance team has ended up finishing fifth on the log with just three points in 5 games.
