1XBET Cup 2023: Ighalo FC beat De Elites 1-0

The Ambrose Duru-tutored Odion Ighalo Football Club defeated De Elites FC in the final of the Epe Conference of the 1XBET Community Football Championship on Thursday.

Oghalo FC's goal came from top striker Michael Nwanchukwu in the 53rd minute of play. His winning goal marked his fifth in two matches.

Nwanchukwu's teammate, Yusuf Fawaz, finished as the Epe Conference's top goal scorer with six goals.

In the Epe Conference, a total of 40 goals were scored in 13 matches, making it the highest number of goals scored in the championship thus far.

Former Nigeria youth international, Michael Dominic, commended Match International Limited, the organizers of the championship coordinated by Engr. Waidi Akanni, for their well-organized championship.

He also applauded the sponsors, 1XBET, for their support in developing grassroots football through the sponsorship of the Community Football initiative spanning all five Divisional Football Associations of Lagos State: Lagos Mainland, Epe, Badagry, Ikorodu, and Lagos Island.
