Seventeen-year-old winger Trevan Sanusi, born in England to Nigerian parents, has officially joined Newcastle United's first team for their pre-season training camp.
Manager Eddie Howe is currently missing several key players, including Bruno Guimarães, Kieran Trippier, and Anthony Gordon, who are representing their respective countries in the recent European Championship and Copa America tournaments.
Due to this situation, Howe has opted to invite several young talents, including Sanusi, to participate in the pre-season training camp held at the Adidas HomeGroup Training Facilities in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Sanusi is viewed as a promising prospect by Newcastle, which played a significant role in their decision to recruit him last summer, ahead of several notable competitors from Birmingham.
Although he trained with the first team last season, Sanusi did not make his official debut and has primarily been competing with the Magpies’ youth teams.
During the previous season, he appeared in 12 matches in the U18 Premier League and also made strides into the development squad, debuting against Blackburn Rovers in Premier League 2 in January.
Recently, Sanusi signed his first professional contract with Newcastle United, and he is eager to further his development within the club.
