With this victory, Kenyatta leads their group, having recorded a draw in their opening game and now being one step closer to securing a semifinal berth.
Coach Joseph Rama of Kenyatta University stated that his team played well and deserved to win.
“We played well; it was a tough match, and we had to work hard to get our goals in the second half of the game.
“We are going into the final group game with a lot of confidence, and we believe that victory is what we will achieve in the end,” Rama said.
Also speaking, Coach Ebenezer Adamoah of the University of Ghana said that his team lacked the mental discipline to win the match and missed many scoring chances.
“We played well in the first half but could not convert the scoring opportunities we had, so in the end, we paid dearly for those missed chances.
“We have to work harder if we are going to get anything from this competition, especially in converting our goal-scoring opportunities,” Adamoah said.
The football event is being held at the Lagos State University Sports Complex in Ojo, Lagos, and at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Akoka.
