Toast launches a Patreon to support his esports team, Disguised
Posted : 14 June 2023
Disguised Toast, a popular North American streamer, has introduced a Patreon to provide support for his esports team, Disguised.
In a YouTube video discussing the financial aspects of managing the team, Toast acknowledged that costs had significantly increased since its establishment just four months ago.
Last month, it was revealed that the organization is projected to spend over $1 million (~£796,000) in 2023, while struggling to secure sponsorships from brands.
Expressing his frustration in the video, Disguised Toast criticized other esports organizations for their failure to deliver tangible value to sponsors, citing their inadequacy in content creation.
The Patreon initiative will involve a weekly video by Toast, providing updates to fans about the team. Subscribers will gain exclusive access to the team's finances, including details on salaries and revenue. Toast considers supporters as informal "investors" who are entitled to an inside look at performance and corporate news.
Disguised recently entered the NACL (North American Collegiate League) for League of Legends earlier this year. However, the organization parted ways with its VALORANT team after failing to re-qualify for the North American VCT Challenger League.
