French esports organization Team Vitality has partnered with audio brand JBL to organize an amateur Rocket League tournament dubbed "The Way Up," aimed at providing aspiring players a platform to showcase their skills and enter the world of esports.
Open to amateur Rocket League enthusiasts aged 14 to 20 from the EMEA region, the tournament will feature three stages culminating in a grand final held at Team Vitality’s V.Hive headquarters in Paris on September 7th.
Participants will engage in one-versus-one matches across each stage, with the top two players from each qualifying event earning a spot in the finals. Team Vitality will offer a prize pool of €3,000 (~£2,572), distributed at various stages of the event, along with gaming gear from JBL, access to the organization’s facilities, and interaction opportunities with its Rocket League coaching staff for the eventual winner.
Team Vitality, known for its active engagement in organizing tournaments and matches with partners, continues its commitment to nurturing talent. Similarly, JBL has been increasingly involved in esports tournaments, including the Quantum Cup in November 2022 with ESL FACEIT Group and a partnership expansion with Team Vitality in January 2023 as its official audio partner.
Nicolas Maurer, Co-founder and CEO of Team Vitality, emphasized the tournament's significance in supporting the next generation of players, aiming to spotlight young talents and unlock their potential in the competitive gaming scene.
