Posted : 03 May 2023
An NBA 2K League organization SteelSeries and KontrolFreek, two manufacturers of gaming accessories, have established a cooperation with the Cavs Legion Gaming Club.
In order to do this, the three parties will collaborate on a range of initiatives, including product testing and activations.
SteelSeries and KontrolFreek will provide headphones and high-performance gaming gear to Cavs Legion participants and the Cavs Legion Lair in addition to collaborating on testing and activations. During the NBA 2K League season, the team uses the Cavs Legion Lair as its practice and competition space.
One of the 25 teams playing in the league is the Cavs Legion Gaming Club, which has the support of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA franchise. Twenty-two of the 25 teams are sponsored by NBA franchises, including Gen.G and Australia's National Basketball League.
Speaking about the agreement was Jonathan Sumers, vice president of the Cavs Legion Gaming Club and Esports Operations: “SteelSeries and KontrolFreek are industry leaders in elite performance gaming gear.
“We are proud to be part of the SteelSeries and KontrolFreek family and look forward to long and fruitful partnerships that put us in a position to play at the highest level now and into the future.”
KontrolFreek and SteelSeries are strengthening their presence in the esports market. The two companies collaborated with Atlanta FaZe of the Call of Duty League (CDL) in April 2022, and in March 2023, SteelSeries extended its previous agreement with Talon Esports of Hong Kong.
The NBA 2K League's five-versus-five part will begin on May 23 with The Tipoff Powered by AT&T and end on August 5.
