Canadian sports and esports betting company, Rivalry, has entered into a partnership with former professional League of Legends player Filipe ‘Ranger’ Brombilla de Barrios for the Brazilian Championship of League of Legends (CBLOL). The collaboration will involve content creation, special promotions, and meet-and-greet sessions for fans to engage with esports betting.
Ranger, known for his extensive career in League of Legends, will also appear on livestreams alongside the popular content group, Ilha das Lendas, during the CBLOL season. Rivalry, which aims to enhance the connection between fans and sports, sees Ranger as an ideal partner for their creator strategy.
Ranger, having played for renowned Brazilian teams like FURIA and Flamengo, brings significant esports experience to Rivalry. After participating in prestigious tournaments such as Worlds and MSI in 2018, he transitioned to content creation.
The partnership with Ranger adds to Rivalry’s roster of over 100 gaming influencers across various markets, reinforcing their commitment to the Brazilian esports market. Luis Gonçalves, Rivalry’s Brazil Country Manager, emphasizes Ranger’s status as a well-respected professional player and a beloved personality in the League of Legends community.
In November 2023, Rivalry reported its financial results for Q3 2023, revealing a net loss of CAD$5.6 million (~£3.2 million). Despite the loss, the company experienced increased revenues and secured a CAD$14 million (~£8.1 million) investment to accelerate growth and develop new products.
Rivalry aims to achieve profitability in the first half of 2024 as it continues to expand its presence in the esports and sports betting landscape.
