Riot Games has unveiled details for the 2025 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), which will begin between January 11th and 18th across all regions. The upcoming season will introduce several significant changes to the tournament's structure, including an expanded number of teams and more matches for each of the four regions. Notably, the VCT Champions event has been rescheduled to take place in September and October.
The VCT remains the premier competition for VALORANT, and Riot Games continues to refine its format each season. The most significant adjustment for 2025 is the revised Championship Point System, which will determine team qualifications for VALORANT Champions. This system will be integrated into a longer season, extending into October.
The 2025 season will kick off with a series of fan-favorite events, beginning with VCT China on January 11, followed by EMEA on January 15, Americas on January 16, and Pacific on January 18. The top two teams from each region will secure spots at the first Masters event in Bangkok, scheduled for late February.
The points system will also see changes, including deeper points distribution at Masters and Playoffs, and the creation of self-contained stages where all teams will start the second half of the season on equal footing.
Qualification for the VCT Champions has been adjusted as well, with two teams from each region earning their spot through Stage 2 playoffs and two others qualifying based on Championship Points. Stage 1 and 2 will see a new format with two groups of six teams competing in a round-robin format, with the top four teams from each group advancing to an expanded eight-team playoff bracket.
Additionally, new teams will join the VCT in 2025, with 2GAME Esports entering the Americas league, Apeks joining EMEA, XLG Esports advancing from the China tournament, and Sin Prisa Gaming entering the Pacific region. BOOM Esports will replace BLEED Esports in the Pacific league after BLEED lost its VCT status.
