Redesigned League of Legends NACL format gets unveiled by Riot Games

The North American Challenger League (NACL), the region's tier-two League of Legends tournament, gets a new appearance according to game publisher Riot Games.
Ten teams will compete for $100,000 (£81,000) in prize money during the summer of 2023. Along with returning teams, including certain LCS academy lineups, the competition will also witness the League of Legends debut of creator-led esports organisation Disguised (DSG).
DSG historically only had a VALORANT roster that participates in the VCT North American Challengers League. DSG is owned by well-known video producer Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang.
The NACL is currently undergoing contentious rule revisions that allow LCS organisations to choose not to field an academy roster. These changes, which also feature a new structure and revenue-sharing options, come in the middle of the current season.
Only three of the ten LCS teams—Evil Geniuses, FlyQuest, and Team Liquid—have chosen to maintain Academy squads throughout current NACL split.
The LCS Players Association (LCSPA) has asked its members to vote on a walkout in response to the rule change.
A six-week regular season and a double-elimination play-off tournament will be part of the NACL Summer Split. The Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles will host the finals offline.
