Prodigy Racing League seeks to combine motorsports with esports
Posted : 02 June 2023
A new sim racing league named the Prodigy Racing League has been introduced by the sports, entertainment, and media organisation Racing Prodigy (PRL).
The league's goal is to offer a transition from racing in simulations to actual racetracks. With GRID Engineering, Asetek SimSports, and SIM-LAB as partners, racers will compete in the near future in iRacing, Street Kart Racing, rFactor 2, and RaceRoom.
There will be 12 esports competitions in the league. During a competition called Prodigy Week, the top 15 competitors will get the opportunity to pilot Radical SR1 racing cars at the Atlanta Motorsports Park in the United States.
A second identical event will occur early in 2024, increasing the overall number of drivers to 50. The American real-world racing series run by the PRL will thereafter provide these drivers the chance to compete.
